Suubi School

In many rural communities across Uganda, poverty, child labor, and limited infrastructure continue to lock children out of education. At Suubi Community Development Organisation, we are changing that reality by creating a school where every child is seen, supported, and given the opportunity to succeed.

At Suubi Community School, more than 350 children receive inclusive and holistic education in an environment built on hope, dignity, and possibility.
We believe every child can learn — not in the same way or at the same pace.
That belief shapes everything we do.

Many children in underserved communities fall behind not because they lack ability, but because they lack support. Through our catch-up learning approach, we help children rebuild foundational literacy, numeracy, confidence, and curiosity by meeting them where they are academically and helping them move forward at their own pace.

But education at Suubi goes beyond the classroom.

We are raising thinkers, problem-solvers, creators, and future leaders. Our students engage in hands-on learning, music, sports, leadership clubs, entrepreneurship, critical thinking, and life-skills development that prepare them for life beyond school. We create space for every child to discover their strengths, express their individuality, and dream beyond their current circumstances.

At Suubi, learning is not about memorizing facts. It is about unlocking potential, restoring confidence, and giving children the tools to shape their own future.

Our school currently includes preschool, primary, and a newly established secondary section, expanding access to meaningful education for underserved rural children and ensuring that no child is left behind.

Women for Development Program

Women are at the heart of strong and resilient communities, yet many rural women in Uganda continue to face barriers such as poverty, limited access to education, and restricted economic opportunities. At Suubi, we focus on unlocking the potential that already exists within them by providing the skills, tools, and support needed to build sustainable livelihoods.

Our Women for Development Program equips rural women and girls who have dropped out of school with practical training in agriculture, entrepreneurship, and technology. Through hands-on learning, mentorship, and continuous support, women are empowered to start, manage, and grow small businesses that generate reliable income and long-term stability.

Access to capital and markets remains one of the biggest challenges for rural women. To address this, Suubi provides small loans and a buyback program that helps women farmers sell their produce fairly and compete effectively in local markets. This ensures that women are not only producing but are able to earn and grow sustainably.

We have also established a Women’s Business Center, a dedicated space where women come together to learn, network, share experiences, and grow as entrepreneurs. It is a hub for collaboration, peer mentorship, and continuous learning, strengthening confidence and building strong women-led enterprises.

Through this approach, women are not only gaining income but also leadership, independence, and a stronger voice in their communities. As women grow, families become more stable, children are supported to stay in school, and entire communities become more self-reliant.
